Avoidable or unavoidable pressure injury: Why is it so hard to do the right thing?

Dr. Ruotsi is the Medical Director of the Advanced Wound Healing Centers at the Catholic Health System in Buffalo, NY. He oversees two outpatient wound care and hyperbaric medicine centers as well as a four-hospital, 1,200 bed in-patient wound care program. He is board certified in Family Medicine as well as Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and is a Certified Wound Specialist. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists (ACCWS) and sits on the Board of Directors as well. Dr Ruotsi is on the NPUAP Board of Directors. He is a Founding Diplomate and sits on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery. He is certified as a Diving Medical Officer by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine with an active teaching role in nursing, physical therapy, medical school and residency programs. Dr. Ruotsi is a member of the Wound Healing society (WHS), and is on the faculty of the Wound Certification Prep Course.
