How to incorporate Innovative Cellular and/or Tissue Products into your treatment plan

Cellular and/or tissue-based products (CTPs) have advanced greatly in the past several decades and improve the ability to heal wounds more efficiently.  CTPs are developed as wound covers for a wide variety of acute and chronic wounds in head-to-toe locations. Some naturally conform to complex anatomies and may be used over exposed structures when performing the latest surgical techniques and strategies for limb preservation, flap, and graft procedures.  Dr.’s Bauman and Parks will share key information for using CTP products, including the science behind the products, patient selection, and outcomes when they discuss their real-world clinical cases in general and podiatric surgery.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the barriers to wound progression.
  • Explore how different CTPs are prepared and the components within.
  • Consider new options for advancing wound edges to successfully close the wound.
  • Prioritize and incorporate CTPs into your treatment plan
  • Review patient case presentations illustrating best principles in practice.
