Constantino S. Peña, MD is an interventional radiologist at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Baptist Hospital in Miami Florida where he serves as the section head for interventional radiology and the Medical Director of Vascular Imaging.  He is the Radiology Partners Interventional Radiology National Subspecialty Division Lead and the Chairman of the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute Management Company. 

Dr. Pena completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology as well as a Vascular and Interventional fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass.  He has served on the Annual Meeting Committee of the SIR and served as the meeting Chairman for the SIR meeting.  He has served as the Chair of the Cardiovascular Radiology & Intervention Council of the American Heart Association (AHA) and a board member of the IAC CT.  He has served on several committees for many professional organizations, including the ABR, ACR, RSNA, and the SIR.   Dr. Peña is a fellow of the SIR, AHA, and SCCT. 

Alex Powell, M.D., is an Interventional Radiologist and Medical Director of Interventional Radiology at the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute.  Dr. Powell received his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he was also Chief Resident.  He completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of California.  Dr. Powell has numerous publications in scientific journals including book chapters and he has lectured in national and international conferences.

Dr. Powell holds academic positions including Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of South Florida and Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine

Brian Schiro, MD, RPVI, FSIR is a vascular and interventional radiologist at the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute in Miami, FL and is the medical director of the noninvasive vascular lab at Baptist Hospital of Miami. Dr. Schiro completed his fellowship training with Miami Vascular in vascular and interventional radiology in 2010 following his diagnostic radiology residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2004. Dr. Schiro now serves as the program director for the independent interventional radiology residency with Miami Vascular and is also the medical director for the medical sonography program at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Schiro serves on the IAC Vascular Testing Board of Directors as a representative of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR).  He has authored numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and his research interests include noninvasive imaging and diagnosis as well as peripheral vascular interventions. 

Daniel Clair, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He then completed his internship and surgical residency, as well as a fellowship in vascular surgery, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in clinical oncology with the American Cancer Society. He served in the U.S. Air Force as chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Andrews Air Force Base before beginning his civilian practice at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He was named the division chief of Vascular Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Presbyterian Campus, and then later returned to the Cleveland Clinic as the department chair of Vascular Surgery, a position he held for 10 years. He was then named professor and chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of South Carolina, where he completed a five-year term. He was recently named as the inaugural chair and professor of the Department of Vascular Surgery at Vanderbilt, specializing in innovative vascular disease care.

William A. Gray, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist, board certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, vascular and endovascular medicine.  Dr. Gray was at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy as Director, Endovascular Intervention at New York Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital.

Prior to joining Columbia University Dr. Gray was Director of the Endovascular Care at Swedish Medical Center from 1999-2005.  Before Seattle, Dr. Gray practiced at Southwest Cardiology where he directed research, served as vice-chair of the Cardiology division at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., and was a founding member of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico.

Dr. Gray specializes in cardiac/structural and peripheral arterial disease diagnosis and treatment as well as non-surgical modalities for stroke prevention, research into preventing the reoccurrence of disease following successful angioplasty or stenting.

Dr. Gray has been principal investigator for numerous clinical trials, and is routinely asked to speak at national and international conferences. He has also been a consultant and device/procedure proctor for numerous medical corporations, and has been a journal reviewer for the American Medical Association.

Dr. Gray holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA and graduated from Temple University’s School of Medicine in Philadelphia.  Dr. Gray’s postgraduate training included an internship, residency, and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I., where he also completed a clinical/research/ interventional fellowship in Cardiology.

Kakra Hughes is a Professor of Surgery with Tenure and Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Howard University and Hospital.   He has served in numerous leadership roles at Howard including President of the Medical Staff and Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee, and currently serves on the Appointment, Promotions and Tenure Committee for the medical school and for several departments.  A board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular surgeon, his clinical interests span the entire spectrum of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. His research interests center on sociodemographic disparities in amputation and revascularization. 

Kakra serves as assistant editor for the Journal of Vascular Surgery, associate editor for Annals of Vascular Surgery, a distinguished fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery and an associate examiner for the Vascular Surgery Certifying Examination of the American Board of Surgery. He previously served as a section editor for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (where he remains on the editorial board) and was also previously an editorial board member for the Journal of Endovascular Therapy.

Kakra obtained a BS (Summa Cum Laude) from Central State University, an MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, an MS in Clinical and Translational Research from Georgetown University and a PhD in Health Services Research from the University of Maryland.  His surgical residency was completed at Los Angeles County’s Martin Luther King, Jr./Charles Drew University Program followed by a Vascular Surgery Residency at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at the Arizona Heart Institute.
