Mental Health and SUD Treatment for the Transgender Population
Sponsored by
Transgender and gender diverse (TGD) populations are rapidly growing in the United States in the past decades. There are strength and vulnerability in this unique cohort. This one hour continuing education program will begin with a brief review of the history of TGD, a key element in understanding the factors which lead to the significant challenges this segment of the population faces. We will focus on the commonality, especially SDoH (Social Determinant of Health), at which TGD experience co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder, and specifically how we at Pride Institute take a client centered, transgender specific approach to comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder evaluation and treatment.
